The Pikes Peak
Association of
REALTORS® (PPAR)
Community Relations
Committee presented
Colorado Springs
Care and Share with
a check for over
$700 to help the
hungry in the Pikes
Peak region.
Representing
PPAR was the
Chairman of the
Community Relations
Committee Tom
Platek, of The
Herman Group, and
longtime committee
member Jim Wright,
of ERA Shields Real
Estate. Accepting
the donation for
Care and Share was
Shannon Coker,
Events Manager.
Care and
Share utilizes a
national network of
resources and helps
more than 400 member
agencies provide
food security to
Southern Coloradans.
Care and Share acts
not as a local
food pantry, but as
a regional hub,
connecting a variety
of nutritious food
resources to those
in need. In addition
to emphasizing
education and
awareness and
stressing advocacy
on a local,
state and national
level, Care and
Share also connects
with businesses,
organizations,
government entities
and individual
community members in
the fight against
hunger. “Any project
that helps people in
need is what I
choose to be a part
of,” said Wright.
Platek and Wright
both emphasized the
importance of giving
back to the
community and to
such a worthwhile
cause. “To see how
Care and Share works
is amazing.
PPAR is proud to
give back to such a
worthwhile
organization,” said
Platek.
