Ready To Join PPAR?

STEP ONE:

Please read the description of membership types carefully before making a selection.

What type of membership are you obtaining?

  • If you have an associate broker license, or hanging your license underneath an employing broker, follow the REALTOR® application procedures.

  • An employing or independent broker who is the responsible member of the office and will not be working for someone else will need to follow Designated REALTOR® procedures.

  • If you are currently a member of another REALTOR® board and want to list or access properties in the PPMLS or CSCP, follow the PPMLS/CSCP participant procedures.

  • Are you interested in becoming an Affiliate or Public Service member and need more information?  Please contact membership at membership@ppar.org  or call 719.633.7718, 8:00-5:00 M-F.

  • Unlicensed assistants needing access must join through Peggy in the RSC technical support at 719.635.5040.

STEP TWO:

  • After you have printed and completed your applications, you may return them to PPAR either in person at 430 North Tejon Street, #101 or you may fax them to 719.476.8166.

  • You will be signed up for your Ethics and Orientation classes at the time of application. 

  • Your MLS class will be scheduled after PPAR has processed your application.  i.e. 2 business days.

GLOSSARY OF REAL ESTATE TERMS YOU MAY FIND HELPFUL:

  • C.A.R.:  Colorado Association of REALTORS®

  • CSCP: Colorado Springs Commercial Properties (PPCIE)

  • DA:  Designated Appraiser

  • DR:  Designated REALTOR®, Broker, or Employing Broker

  • FISCAL YEAR:  The PPAR fiscal year is October 1 - September 30

  • N.A.R.:  National Association of REALTORS®

  • NON-MEMBER:  Not a member of PPAR, but is affiliated with a Designated REALTOR® who is a member.  The non-member is not considered a REALTOR®; not eligible for Professional Standards or Ethics Arbitration, education fees are higher, not-eligible for member benefits or discounts and various other services will be significantly higher or denied.

  • NRDS #:  Your ID# from the National REALTORS® Data-base System.

  • PARTICIPANT:  The DR/DA member of PPAR who is the Participant in the PPMLS or PPCIE.

  • P.P.A.R.:  Pikes Peak Association of REALTORS®

  • PPMLS:  Pikes Peak Multiple Listing Service

  • PRINCIPAL:  That person or persons holding an ownership interest in a real estate brokerage or appraisal company, regardless of the type of legal form of such company, who has ultimate supervisory responsibility for any real estate or appraisal licensees working in or employed by such company under applicable statuses and implementing rules and regulations of the Colorado Real Estate Commission.

  • REALTOR®:  Broker Associate, Sub-Participant, Broker Agent (NOTE:  It's REAL-TOR® - two syllables)

  • RSC:  REALTOR® Services Corporation (wholly-owned subsidiary of PPAR)

  • SUBSCRIBER:  Colorado licensed and certified real estate Affiliate Appraiser members of PPAR or any other CAR association that do not participate in the PPMLS or PPCIE through a Designated REALTOR® or Designated Appraiser Participant, or Affiliate Lending Institution or Title company member of PPAR.

  • SUB-PARTICIPANT:  The non-DR/DA participant in the PPMLS or PPCIE.
