LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
PROGRAM |
"A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make
tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others.
They do not set out to leaders, but become one by the quality of their
actions and of the integrity of their intent. In the end, leaders
are much like eagles...they don't flock, you find them one at a time."
|
One of the first Associations across the
nation to have such a program, PPAR offers a leading-edge structured leadership program for
members to understand how the Association works and to encourage your future participation at a
leadership level. The program provides in-depth sessions about PPAR to
enhance your understanding of how the Association operates and to help
you succeed in the real estate industry.
The Leadership Development Program has required and optional sessions. The
program is spread out over five
months. |
- Kickoff Reception - Your opportunity
to learn exactly what the program is all about and what is
expected should you commit to the program. You
will sign a Letter of Commitment.
- PPAR Organization - PPAR, RSC and
Finance overviews
- Industry Forecasts-a briefing
from the Colorado Real Estate Commission and an Economic Forecast
Breakfast for the Pikes Peak region
- Strategic Planning - Review
the history of PPAR strategic planning, and participate in updating
the plan that guides PPAR.
- Conflict Resolution - discuss
scenarios of situations that arise for leadership and present
proposed solutions
- MRE Professional Standards -

and practical aspects of the REALTOR® Professional Standards
program, grievance procedures and ethics and arbitration
proceedings.

Meetings - witness Board actions to gain perspective on how both
Boards conduct the business of the Association.
- REALTOR® Day at the Capitol - be a
part of the team of members who travel to Denver to meet with
legislators about issues that affect the real estate industry
- CARVAN - travel to Pueblo for a
session with members of the Pueblo and State Associations

COST |

HOW DO I GET INTO
THE PROGRAM? |
Members in the Leadership Development
Program are usually nominated by a PPAR Director, although those who show interest in the program
may participate as well. Nominated members have shown
qualities of leadership and a willingness to take it a step forward to
improve themselves and their Association, applying the benefits from the
sessions they have attended. A majority of those who serve on the Board
of Directors are graduates of the Leadership Program.
