Certified Residential Specialist - CRS

 
There are two options to choose from In order to receive the CRS designation. Choose from the option that matches your level of experience.

Option 1Production Requirements - 75 transaction sides within any five-year period  OR $25 million within any five year period

Option 2:  Production Requirements - 25 Transaction sides (with no time limit) OR $8 million with a minimum of 10 transactions within any two-year period

Education:   Two core courses for option 1 and three core courses for option 2
Each core course is a two-day course

Elective Requirements:  (These change frequently!  Visit www.crs.com for up-to-date requirements
A total of 4 units are needed for either option.  You may choose from the following:
Additional core course (2 Units per course), distance learning course (1-2 units per course, 4 maximum), 2 CRS approved one-unit courses (1 unit per course, 2 maximum), attendance at a CRS Sell-a-bration (1unit per course, 2 maximum), CIPS Essentials of International Real Estate Course (2 units), Bachelor's Degree or any one of the following designations or certifications:  ABR, CPM, CRB, CRES, CCIM, FRI, GRI or e-PRO (2 units per item, 2 maximum.  Must be a member in the Council of Residential Specialists.  All members are required to maintain active REALTOR or REALTOR Associate membership in their local board/state association.  A $75.00 processing fee applies to all designation applications.  There is no time limit in fulfilling the education requirements.  THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THE REQUIREMENTS STATED ABOVE. 

Annual Membership Dues:  At the time of the awarding of the CRS designation and thereafter, the designee must maintain annual membership in the Council - $120.00 - and maintain REALTOR or REALTOR Associate membership with their local board or state association.

Application and Fee:  The application is available at www.crs.com  Click on "join CRS" then choose "application".  The application fee is $100.00 plus a $75.00 designation fee.
